about

Hello... I'm Anthony and I am currently an Interactive Designer for Esser Design in Phoenix Arizona. All my life I have been creating things. Whether it was a drawing, a painting, a paper-mache wolf in 2nd grade, my first video starring my favorite G.I. Joes, a bowl of Ramen (not the packaged stuff), photography, or an album cover for my high school band... Creativity has never been lacking and I have never been afraid to try or learn new things. I started drumming at about 13 and tried notating my own music around the same time. I also taught myself how to play guitar and write HTML. My current project is a house twice as old as I am. And of course, I am the father of a wonderful six year old girl: Iana Sky.

I received a Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Arts and Performance from Arizona State University; graduating Summa Cum Laude. At ASU my focus was Media Arts where I studied and created works of Multimedia Installation Art. At ASU, much of the curriculum revolved around Art and Film History, with an emphasis on the avant-garde and experimental arts of the last century. I had began making home movies at the early age of 9 and found a love for editing through, at the time, cutting edge technology courses offered at my high school. But it was through the Interdisciplinary Arts and Performance program that I began working extensively in other areas such as motion-graphics, DVD authoring, web development, Flash animation, as well as sound engineering.

My current line of work has me delving deeper into the world of multimedia. I started off mainly doing Flash Action-Scripting and front-end "Tableless" Web Design. Slowly my experience and knowledge in various fields of multimedia allowed for new kinds of projects and media to add to Esser's design portfolio. I began to produce DVD's, web video, television commercials, as well as furthering my web development skills by beginning to learn Drupal, one of the most powerful and widely used Content Management Systems (CMS) in the world. Oddly enough, I began working in Drupal through our work with Arizona State University.

My interdisciplinary mind set would prove to be a key asset as I began developing the new Digital Signage program for Esser. Because of the recent, rapidly rising demand for Multi-Screen and Touch-Screen applications, I have had to adapt my skills -- plain old 1080p video work can't stand alone as the medium for this growing market . So over the last 2 years I have been creating my own unique workflow involving not just audio/video/motion-graphics, but VBScripting, multiple compression schemes, web and database integration...plus a few more secrets I keep hidden up my sleeve. I know I am not the only one working in this mode, but I am proud to say that there are probably only a handful of people doing what I do. Right now, I am currently at the drawing board for a possible 21 screen installation that will blow away everything else I've done in the past.

Currently, Esser has installations at some of the world's leading medical care facilities, including Barrow Neurological Institute and Phoenix Children's Hospital, as well as others throughout Arizona, Nevada, and California. Whether it's running Touch-Screen, Multi-Screen, You-Name-It - I've been creating High-Definition, totally custom and state-of-the-art multimedia installations for our clients.
